Birthmark Removal Breakthroughs!

There are 3 types of birthmarks: Pigmentation birthmarks (where the skin has too much coloring), Macular stains (flat pink patches of skin often on the neck and eyelids), and Vascular Malformations (such as the common port-wine stains).

If you or your child has a birthmark that shows or causes any kind of social sensitivity, you might consider cosmetic birthmark removal surgery. The procedures in this area of plastic surgery are safe and effective. For example, laser therapy can now be used to shrink or eliminate some birthmarks that people used to have to live with, such as port-wine stains.

Omega 3 fatty acids

Omega-3 fatty acids are an essential nutrient, meaning that they are required for normal growth in children. However, it is the benefit to adults that has received more attention lately. The following benefits have been found (please contact the author for reference information):

  • People with circulation problems, the most well-known perhaps being varicose veins, benefit from fish oil.
  • Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to reduce symptoms of ADHD in children (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder).
  • Some children have had improved academic performance when they have previously struggled to learn with omega 3 supplementation.
  • There have also been animal studies that have suggested that omega 3s might help with decrease memory loss of people who are older
  • Omega 3 fatty acids have been found to have an anti-inflammatory property that can help with neck pain, rheumatoid arthritis
  • Some studies have shown that there is a deficit in omega-3 fatty acids in many people with depression, and other studies have shown that omega-3 supplementation reduced symptoms.

Vitamin D Supplements and SAD

Seasonal Affective disorder affects many people. This problem involves people feeling depressed in the winter months, and it usually hits people who live in areas where daytime is shorter in that part of the year. Thus one known cause of SAD is a lack of natural sunlight...but until recently it was not known why this caused people to feel depressed and lethargic. Recently, however, it has been hypothesized that it is a lack of vitamin D, which our body produces when we are in the sun but we otherwise get little of in a normal diet, that causes this problem. Vitamin D supplements can be the cure...more later, or see www.dsupplements.com.

Other types of augmentation...

While butt augmentation and cheek augmentation are beoming increasingly popular, it is obviously breast augmentation that gets the most press. Interestingly, cheek augmentation and butt augmentation, whether by fat injections or implants, are often more safe, and create an equally noticable effect.

The latest in augmentation...

For many, its not that their "parts" are too large, but actually that they're too small. In other words, as opposed to "reduction" or "removal" surgery, they actually want "augmentation surgery that adds something. It may be injections of fat that make a part of the body look fuller, or the placement of a implant that can be pre-sculpted. Some examples of this type of surgery can be found here:
